The Chinese Pregnancy Calendar And The Gender Of Your Baby
For hundreds of years people have been trying to figure out how to guarantee having a boy or girl. At the same time, others have tried to predict the sex of the baby already in the womb. There are many different ways that this is tried, from the ring on a string to the height and placement of the belly during the pregnancy. But the Chinese have been relying on their lunar calendar and their Chinese pregnancy calendar to help choose the gender they want.
The Beijing Institute of Science is said to hold the original calendar that can predict the gender of a baby before conception. Some say it was discovered around seven hundred years ago while others say closer to a thousand. It is rumored to have been created for the royal families so that they could guarantee a son in the family.
Because it is based in Yin Yang, there are many supporters and followers of this pregnancy calculator. All you need to know is the month that the mother conceived and her lunar age at that time. Lunar age isn’t something many are familiar with, but it is necessary for accurate results.
The Chinese calendar is lunar based and according to that, when you are born you are already one year old. They take into consideration the time you have spent in the womb as part of your age also. At every Chinese New Year, you add one year to your age, no matter what month you were born in. So according to that, if you were born the day before the Chinese New Year, you would be two the next day on that holiday.
There is a two month difference between the Chinese and the Western calendar and February is the Chinese New Year, not January. And it falls on a different day that month each year. Some find it easier just to add one year to their age to figure out what their lunar age is but you can go online and use the calculators specially designed for this to determine your true lunar age.
Knowing the month of conception is easy since you can use the date of your last period as a guideline, and with that information and your lunar age in hand, you can then figure out the gender of your unborn baby. Online you’ll find a variety of graphs to use, down the side is the age of the mother and across the top is the month of conception. When you have those two lines meet, you are shown the sex of the baby.
For some cultures the gender of the baby is very important, many preferring the male child over the female, which makes these predictors very popular. Some swear by this method of gender prediction, while others are quite doubtful. Whether the Chinese birth calendar is accurate or not, it is fun to take a look at when you are pregnant and see for yourself when you have your baby.
