What is the small film that shows a small wooden Indian in a canoe traveling across Canada?
I used to see this small video which showed a sculptor creating a small wooden canoe with an Indian and the small sculptor traveling across Canada’s waters
Paddle-to-the-Sea (27 mins) Based on a children’s classic, “Paddle” is set during the dark of the Canadian winter, in the Nipigon country north of the Great Lakes. There, a young Native American boy carves the figure of an Indian in a canoe and sends it on an exciting waterway journey hundreds of miles from home.

Paddle-to-the-Sea is a 1941 children’s book, written and illustrated by American author and artist Holling C. Holling. It was recognized as a Caldecott Honor Book in 1942.
The film Paddle-to-the-Sea, based on this book, was produced by the National Film Board of Canada in 1966, directed by Bill Mason. It was nominated for an Oscar.
Plot summary:
At Lake Nipigon, Canada, a boy carves a wooden model of an Indian in a canoe and sets it free to travel the Great Lakes to the Atlantic ocean. The story follows the progress of the little wooden Indian on its journey through all five Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River.
