Anyone have knowledge about Navajo Pawn turquoise?
I bought some necklaces at a flea market and they have string making me think they are vintage “pawn jewelry.Not sure though.
Vintage pawn jewlery is actually hard to come across. One thing to look for is she size of the turquiose. Larger pieces more than likey came from the early part fo the 1900′s.
The pawn jewelry was used to buy food or other needed supplies. If the pawn was paid off it was called dead pawn and the item was returned. If it was not paid back then it was kept by the pawn broker.
