How do I become a Buddhist Monk?
I am 15 and I think I have found my calling. I have been sent dreams of the world and then buddha beckoning for me to come and sit close. To meditate with Lord Buddha. I have very stong intrest in Buddhism and I am planning on getting a teacher to teach me the ways of Tibetan Buddhism. I know it sounds rash and very rushed but I think it is my calling. What do you think?
Fortunately it is something you can leave or join at any time, unlike callings in Catholicism. I think if that’s what you want to do, you should do it. I think you should finish college first though, learning the basics of the religion as you go, then move to a monastary at that time. I will give you a star, maybe my many Buddhist contacts can advise you better than I.
