Africa is a truly amazing world of wonders, artists, animals and history. The past has captured the imaginations of many people across the planet, and Africa offers some that cannot be rivalled.
The first recorded detailed writings in Africa were those written by the Egyptians in 4000 BC. They showed some truly astonishing intelligence, built pyramids and had presented the world with an amazing civilization. Many scientists and academics believe that if you are to look back in time to decipher which was the first civilization on our planet, you should look at who had the first comprehensive writings, this means it would have been the Egyptians. Even before this, over 100,000 years ago, the plains of Africa were very different. Fossils showed that they supported Homo sapiens, which are the same genus as us.
The African Countryside was as said, very different to the desolate plains it is now. At the end of the Ice Age about 10,500 years ago, the Sahara desert was actually a very lush green meadow of land. It would have been a popular agricultural site for any farmer. When you then think of where the continent of Africa is on our planet it is easy to see why the land became desert. These people would then have had to migrate to plains with more grassland. By 3000 BC some civilizations across the world but specifically in Africa had started domesticating animals like horses and donkeys to do farming work.
Africa has been celebrated for its completely unique art. Not to be found anywhere else on the planet, this completely diversified style of arts all over Africa is of amazing quality and difference. Regardless of where you travel through Africa, a person will be able to locate a different piece of culture from different sectors. The main emphasis that is generalised across the whole of Africa is the human figure. This generalisation of art is a representation of a loved one, a dead friend or family member or of somebody of great importance.
