im getting old and for the life of me cant remember the name we use to casll the wooden round painted people….one inside the other inside the other inside the other,,inside the other,,,,you’d pop each one open to find another,,,pop open …another handpainted doll…WHATS THE NAME……something like patchuca’s???damn i forget…
it was like one word……..WHAT are they CALLED.???
and it’s NOT…. “matryoshka” what they really are suppose to be called

A matryoshka doll, a Babushka doll or a Russian nested doll, also called a stacking doll, is a set of dolls of decreasing sizes placed one inside the other. “Matryoshka” (Матрёшка) is a derivative of the Russian female first name “Matryona”, which was a very popular name among peasants in old Russia.
