The Three Legged Toad: Fortune Magnet
In feng shui, the three legged toad or money frog is thought to have magical powers that can attract wealth and abundance into your life and into your home. During the night when the moon is round it can appear at the front of one’s home entrance and attract riches along with it, so they say.
Called Chan Chu in Chinese, it is commonly seen as figurines in the form of a bullfrog with a Chinese coin in its mouth sitting on top of piles of riches like coins and gold bars. A string with coins is also in its mouth. A duplicate of the Ursa Major of Big Dipper constellation is visible on its back side.
You can see the three legged toad in Chinese art usually drawn together with Liu Hai or the god of wealth and prosperity. The frog is the animal companion of Liu Hai and they enjoy spending time together. They both live an exciting life and Liu Hai knows the toads weakness, which is a gold coin. That is therefore the birth of how we see them today.
It is believed on the other hand that the toad is not as good as it appears to be. Buddha made an appearance to change the frog’s attitude and instructed it to lend a hand to others. Eversince the three legged toad has been coughing up coins to make up for its mistake.
Now the association of the toad with money is clear. Currently, the toad is now a fashionable and well-accepted emblem for career improvement. Not only that, it is supposed that it can prevent bad luck related to money from crossing your path. It controls your use of money and avoid incidents that make you lose money.
A three legged toad can be of different size and color and can be obtained in lots of shops. After buying, you will now have to find a strategic spot for it in your home. You could put it at an area diagonally reverse to the entrance door.
More than one toad is also possible. Locate both frogs near the entry way opposite each other since one will attract money while the other will prevent money from going out. Extra frogs is also recommended. A maximum of nine toads can be put up in your home. Allocate it in many locations in your home like the garden, dining room, and living room.
Position the ornament on top of your desk if you are in sales or in commission-based employment. If you’re a businessman, the frog should be facing opposite the cash register. If you want to make the most of your three legged toad, never place it in the bedroom, kitchen or bathroom because it has no use there.
