The Chakras – The Solar Plexus Chakra
The solar plexus chakra is the third one and it is known as Manipura in the early Sanskrit language, it is located around the area of the navel. The energy from this chakra flows out not just from the front of the body but as well from a corresponding point at the back as well. In this case from the naval and the point directly behind it on the back. The energy from the back of the body nevertheless is not as strong as that which flows from the front.
It is this chakra that tunes us into our life giving force.The sun is represented here with all of its splendidly warm life giving properties.
The solar plexus chakra represents vivacity, resolute self control and genuine inner power. The energy from this chakra inspires us so we are able to better use the inner power that we have.
Activation of this chakra can assist with dietary matters and a general healthy balancing of our bodies
When the chakra is blocked it can cause stomach ulcers, bloated stomachs and even hepatitis.
The related color for the solar plexus chakra is yellow, yellow of the sun. Its element is of course fire and its associated metal is bronze. Its gem stones are citrine and tiger’s eye. Using these gems, the tiger;s eye above all, help us in searching inside. It helps us to appreciate and acknowledge our errors. They can also help in developing a bond or union between our own personal power and what is free will. Tiger’s eye can activate the digestive system and the colon. Tiger’s eye though shares the vibration of the solar plexus itself and is where it is most beneficial.
The psychological aspects of the solar plexus chakra when it is in balance are an immense personal power, determination and the ability to make just decisions. The psychological aspects of the solar plexus chakra when it is out of balance are timidity, doubt, low energy or even exhaustion and digestive problems.
If you want to balance this chakra on your own then you can simply meditate to relaxing music in the key of F whilst imagining a sphere of bright yellow light over the chakra. Imagine a 10 petalled yellow lotus flower gradually opening and spinning over the chakra. This yellow lotus is the depiction of the Sanskrit Mandala for this chakra.
