Ever Considered Using A Bamboo Fountain
Having a bamboo fountain provides a certain magical appeal to your home garden. This unique fountain hails from Japan where it was devised by rice farmers as a way to frighten deer away from the rice paddies. The name “deer chasers” was coined and is still used as another name for the bamboo fountain.
The bamboo fountain found another use with the monks who used them to track their meditation times. Today, more people are intrigued by the bamboo fountain because it is made of eco-friendly material. Still, the bamboo fountain possesses a simple beauty and charm that attracts people. The typical bamboo fountain might be used inside the home and out in the garden.
Constructing a bamboo fountain is easy and takes only a few parts to build. The parts for the fountains include bamboo, pipe, pump, base, screws, rod, and a container. If you are constructing an outdoor bamboo fountain, it is wise to use a quality bamboo that will not break under variable weather conditions. People who opt to use the bamboo fountain indoors often enhance the strength and appearance of the bamboo by applying polish. You will also need a screwdriver, wood saw, and a drill to make your bamboo fountain.
Once you’re ready to build, you should start by cutting the bamboo sticks to the preferred length. There will be three bamboo sticks in the construction. One piece of bamboo will be used to hold the nozzle while the others will hold the moving part of the bamboo fountain. The part that moves is responsible for collecting water and emptying it once the weight of the collected water rises. Use a drill to put holes in through the bamboo sticks and the moving part. The holes are necessary because a rod will be inserted through the holes so the fountain will rock back and forth.
You will take the pipe and link it from your water pump and up the center of the bamboo stick. The top of the pipe is fitted with a bamboo nozzle. Everything should then be mounted onto a base. The bamboo fountain is in working order when it continues cycling water through the moving part, out of the nozzle and back in again.

If you do get a bamboo fountain, you might like to know how to maintain one. Care and maintenance deal in two basic areas. The first area is water pump care. You need to have the water pump below the surface of your retaining pool when running. Lastly, clean the pump regularly. You must replace the water in your fountain on a regular schedule. If your bamboo fountain is on all the time, you won’t have to change it as often but it is still good to keep on a schedule to avoid smell, stagnant water.
