Will painting the walls (inside) my house really increase the value when selling?
Don’t people prefer to paint when they move in a house? Do I really have to paint the walls (we are trying to sell our house). We really don’t want to spend the money and put forth all the effort to paint (they are large rooms). Realtor suggested painting the walls.
Have you ever sold a car? Didn’t you wash and wax it? Maybe clean the engine?
When you put your house up for sale you are now much like a retail store. They keep them very clean and very well maintained. You need to do the same on your house for sale.
My theory is buyers imagine that the house will remain the same when they move in. So if you are a great housekeeper then they think they will magically become one even if they are not now.
Most buyers have little imagination. You need to do whatever you can to help make the house appealing to the largest audience…or just drastically reduce the price and make it a great bargain.
