What should I do in Bangkok, Pattaya, and Khao Lak?

Can anyone please help me out? Me and my girlfriend are going to Thailand from July 7 to July 15. We are going to be staying in Siam Bayshore Resort and Spa from the 7th to 10th and Le Meridian Khao Lak for the remainder. I would like to know how much spending money should we bring? We really wanna do excursions, visit temples, eat food, drink and most importantly enjoy the night life? We are both a very open couple and are looking to see all the thailand has to offer. I you can also recommend us to excursions and places that you would think would be alot of fun, that would be very appreciated. We plan on hanging out in Bangkok for a day, if you can please recommend something for us to do for the day. We though maybe $2k would be enough but please advise if more or less is needed. We would like to do activities everyday there. And final question, is Pattaya fun for an open minded couple in their late 20′s? Thank you.

Well, the sky is the limit when it comes to spending money on fun – though you will get more of your money’s worth here – - why don’t you just bring an ATM card and be done with it – - as you do not sound like someone who has a budget – - nobody forces you to spend discretionary money here – make a budget of how much you want to spend – be sure to tell your bank at home that you will be using your ATM card in Thailand so that they do not cancel you for your protection – - and have fun.

And yes, you will find plenty of open minded people in Pattaya. You open your wallet – they open their mind -
