How can I turn a huge pile of cedar shavings from cut trees into useable mulch?
The power company had to remove these trees and we were told the raw mulch will kill plants. The mulch has been ‘curing’(?) for one year. Can we mix something with it? HELP!
if it’s been sitting for a year, it’s good to use now…. it’s only when it’s ‘fresh’ that it grabs all available nitrogen to start it’s own composting…..
anywhere you put it now should be fine, tho I still wouldn’t use it around tender new seedlings.. just because…..lucky you!!…. that stuff’s expensive around here!!!
