Nobel Peace Prize Brings About The Internal Nazi In Chinese Plan
Chinese human rights hero Liu Xiaobo was officially presented with the Nobel Peace Prize Friday in Oslo, Norway. Liu, who is presently being held in prison by the Chinese government, was honored with a symbolic empty chair during the event. China joins Nazi Germany as the only regimes barring representatives of Nobel Peace Prize laureates from taking the award in proxy at the Nobel ceremony. Regardless of whether Liu Xiaobo had been able to get an pay day loans, he would not be able to purchase his freedom.
Nobel Peace Prize sits in empty chair
The 2010 Nobel Peace Prize and the $1.5 million check that comes with it was set on an empty chair after Thorbjorn Jagland, chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, presented the award. Over 60 countries sent diplomatic representatives. They were all to go to the Nobel awards ceremony. Both China and Russia were very much absent. Jagland gave China credit for its economic development, but said “It is no coincidence that nearly all the richest countries in the world are democratic.” Since Liu Xiaobo had been announced as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in October, China has suspended bilateral trade talks with Norway. We can tell what the Beijing government thinks about it. It did say that the Nobel Committee members were “clowns” after all.
Liu Xiaobo signed a Charter 08
“Charter 08,” or a manifesto to make a fundamental political change in China, was what Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo was arrested for in December 2008. More than 300 influential Chinese including academics, lawyers and journalists signed the Charter 08. Liu ended with an 11 year prison sentence because of “subversion of state power” after what he did. China has been trying to make it so the news of Liu’s award doesn’t come. They want to suppress it. Police then forced co-author of Charter 08, Zhang, Zuhua, into a vehicle Thursday. Now in front of Liu’s house there are blue construction panels. His wife was on house arrest there after he was announced winner of the award.
China following in Hitler’s footsteps
Imprisoned political dissidents have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize before. Soviet physicist Andrei Sakharov, Polish labor leader Lech Walesa and Burmese activist Aung San Suu Kyi were represented by family at the Oslo awards ceremony. 1935 was the last time an Nobel laureate’s family wasn’t allowed to attend. German journalist Count Carl von Ossietzky won the Nobel Peace Prize when he was in a concentration camp for speaking out against Hitler’s rise to power. Just as China did with their Confucius Prize Thursday, Hitler then has his own peace prize.
