Prayer to Save my Marriage
When most Christian couples get married they choose to have this special ceremony at their church. Why at a church? Because they believe their commitment to each other is sacred and they want God to be their #1 witness.
Church is also the place where their families and friends normally gather, so they want them to witness their love for each other as well. They hope that all the prayers from their guests will have a positive impact in their future life together.
But what happens once the religious ceremony is over? How does the new couple keep the presence of God in their lives? If they celebrated their union at a church in front of the eyes of God, does that mean that they will continue staying close to God? The reality is that most couples won’t.
Most couples get so caught up in their new life together, that church, prayer or God are not anywhere near their lives. They become so drawn away form God, that they don’t realize how much they need him.
God does not come back to a couple’s life until they start having problems, then they notice that something is missing in their relationship. This is when many couples think of God as the best source for help. But how do you approach God for help? The best and most effective way to reach God is through prayer.
Even if prayer has not been present in your relationship, it is not too late. God is always willing to listen; he has no deadlines. Prayer will give you inner strength. It has mysterious yet effect results in a person’s life. It’s never too late to use prayer to bring back a relationship together.
Prayer is the best source to save a marriage because:
• It brings comfort, hope and optimism
• It guides us in the right direction
• It strengthens a couples relationship with each other and with God
• It brings us a sense of peace
• It blesses us with a new attitude and renewed energy
• It gives us the capacity to be happy and kind to those around us
• It encourages us to work hard and be our best
No matter how abandoned prayer has been in your lives, it’s never too late. Start by having a special time during the day to say a short prayer together. You’ll see the immediate results in your relationship and on how you feel about yourself. Prayer will bring you together in the most loving, peaceful and heavenly ways you can imagine.
