Metal Wine Racks – Providing Aesthetic Beauty As Well As Strength

Metal wine racks can be an excellent selection when choosing the best way to display and protect your collection of favorite, special and rare wines. Not only are metal racks strong, sturdy and durable, but they usually reflect a high degree of artistic flair. Many times people are struck with the intricate designs that they feature and the fine details and wonderful workmanship and consider them more as a piece of art than a storage unit or a cellar rack.

But even aside from the aesthetics of wine racks and the beauty that they lend to any setting where they are found, they are also very practical. A wrought iron wine rack is a durable piece of furniture that has a practical purpose of safeguarding a wine collection. When properly cared for there is no saying how long a metal wine rack can provide serviceable function in great style for your collection of dessert wines, red wines or white wines.

There is a wide array of styles to choose from in metal wine racks to meet different needs for storage and to fit within available space. The smallest wine racks hold just one bottle and can be used easily in a kitchen setting or even at the table during dinner. There are also mid-sizes that are designed to sit on countertops to full-size wine storage racks that can hold several dozen wine bottles.

When it comes to the large wine racks made of metal, the styles vary from those that are very much like cabinets that have rows of holes to support the wine bottles on their sides in a very neat and orderly fashion. These would be considered more of a traditional wine storage rack and they will fit well against a wall. Some have doors that close, and can even be locked if necessary, giving them the feel of an armoire except that they are not solid.

There are also more flowing designs and shapes. Some have very curvaceous frames and the spaces for the wine bottles are cleverly worked into the design and there is not the appearance of strict rows or shelves. With this type, the back is usually flat so they also work against walls. Because of the flowing design, this type of wine storage rack generally will hold fewer bottles of wine but some people prefer the more flowing feel to the overall shape of the piece.

There are large sized metal racks that have even more of a free-flow pattern to them, and one of the most striking that has been seen is designed to look very much like a tree with branches that appear to drape. These unique wine racks have spaces intertwined into the tree form where you can place the wine bottles upside down and they appear to almost become part of the tree. While fun and engaging, this type of metal wine rack also requires the right kind of setting and plenty of space to allow it to be appreciated.

Even the smaller table-top metal wine racks come in a large number of choices that can fit the needs of people with smaller spaces. There are table-top size racks that can hold up to a dozen bottles of wine. There are also smaller racks that will display three to five bottles. These small-sized racks can be used for long term storage for people who don’t have much space, or to store bottles in anticipation of the arrival of guests.
