have you heard of the native american church of north america?
The native american church of north america currently has 225,000 memebers and blends christianity with the peyote cult. They use peyote in their rituals. But many states have outlawed peyote and considered it a narcotic. The use of peyote has been banned. Should these people be allowed to use peyote or are they promoting a dangerous narcotic? Does freedom of religion protect them from anti-peyote laws?
If it is done on reservations, it is legal. They have their own laws and law enforcement there. It is also part of their religious practice. If you say not, then why is wine used in communion without ID being checked first and in many areas it is illegal to distribute alcohol before noon?
